OUR HISTORY

The Meadows is a not-for-profit organization, which means all funds exceeding expenses are reinvested back into our community. With no shareholders or investors expecting to earn profits, The Meadows can use its funds to enhance the lives of residents through new programs, expanded services, and other improvements. In 2019, we undertook a major renovation and expansion to our campus, including the addition of 92 brand-new independent living residences, two new restaurants, a 6,000-square-foot fitness and aquatic center, and beautiful new common areas.

In order to maintain its not-for-profit status with the IRS, The Meadows is required to maintain affordability for the residents who live here. This means residents get the most value for their hard-earned dollars.

EXPERIENCED MANAGEMENT

The Meadows of Napa Valley is managed by PRS Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Pacific Retirement Services. PRS is a nationally recognized leader in the retirement industry. Through this arrangement, The Meadows is able to take advantage of the benefits of PRS’s years of experience.
Headquartered in Medford, Oregon, PRS develops, operates, and manages a family of organizations, including Life Plan Communities, affordable senior housing centers, charitable foundations serving residents at PRS communities, and a community services division that provides volunteers to help people in need.

ABOUT THE IOOF

The Meadows is owned by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs (IOOF), one of the oldest fraternal orders in the world. One does not need to be a member of the Order to live at The Meadows. The Odd Fellows is an organization dedicated to serving others and welcomes everyone to enjoy The Meadows lifestyle. The IOOF has a long history of serving others, a commitment at the heart of their philosophy and expressed by its organizational motto: “Friendship, Love, and Truth.” For more than two centuries members of the IOOF have demonstrated their commitment to these values by providing care and comfort to homeless children, the poor, and the elderly. At The Meadows, this commitment is reflected in all aspects of the lifestyle—from the comfortable accommodations to the excellent care and array of fine services and amenities.
