A letter from our Executive Director

This Thursday marks 60 years since Rogue Valley Manor first opened. As I reflect on our history, I’m grateful for the thousands of people who have chosen to live here over the years. Our residents are neighborly, interesting, and delightfully good company. They are accomplished people who could have chosen to live anywhere, yet they decided to live here with us. They are what makes our community such a special place to live and work.

I’m also profoundly appreciative of RVM’s welcoming staff. Their commitment to residents is always on display. This commitment has been abundant over the previous 20 months of the pandemic. One recent example is our community-wide booster shot clinic. Coordinating over 1,000 booster shots is a herculean task, but our team members completed it with remarkable aplomb. Without the dedication of our team members, we would not be able to serve the men and women who live here.

As part of our year-long celebration of 60 years as a community, we will be featuring profiles of residents and staff so you get to know them more. These are the stories that shape who we are, and I look forward to sharing them with you.

In the meantime, I invite you to enjoy this audio recording of Paul Harvey dedicating the Rogue Valley Manor in 1961. The video is accompanied by photos of our construction and early days as a community.

Thank you for being a part of the Rogue Valley Manor community.

Sincerely,

Stan Solmonson
